Instinct covers both dogs and cats across raw, freeze-dried, kibble and canned food, which makes it one of the broader single-brand ranges in the shop. The selection here splits fairly evenly between the two animals, with canned cat food and dog kibble the two largest parts of it.

The brand is best known for its Raw Boost kibble and the Raw Boost Mixers, which are freeze-dried pieces meant to be scattered over an existing meal rather than fed on their own — a way of adding raw to a diet without moving to it wholesale. There are also limited-ingredient recipes built around a single protein, which are worth a look if you are trying to work out what your pet reacts to. The frozen raw items are stocked for local delivery in Vancouver and North and West Vancouver, or for pickup at the Kitsilano shop.
